STOCKHOLM (AP) _ Swedish bus and truck maker AB Volvo said Tuesday it will invest 530 million kronor (US$76.3 million) in a French plant of subsidiary Renault Trucks to increase assembly and painting capacity.
Renault Trucks' cab plant in Blainville produces cabs for all of its truck models. The changes at the plant are scheduled to be completed in 2009, the company said in a statement.
Volvo, which sold its car division to U.S.-based Ford Motor Co. in 1999, employs about 83,000 people and has production facilities in 18 countries.
