Editors of American car magazine “Car and Driver” announced their
verdict at the beginning of the year: the Golf GTI is one of the “Ten
best cars of 2008”. A total of 50 vehicles from American, European and
Asian manufacturers were up for selection. The Golf GTI particularly
impressed the judges with its precise suspension and innovative DSG
dual-clutch gearbox. The sophisticated looks and spaciousness of the
Golf GTI also convinced the jury.
