FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) _ Volkswagen says its profit in the first
six months of 2007 rose by more than 65 per cent.
Europe's biggest automaker by sales says it earned 2.69 (b)
billion dollars U-S in the January-June period.
That compares with 1.65- (b) billion dollars U-S a year earlier.
The German-based company credits better-than-expected sales in
Europe and China and demand for its luxury Audi models.
The company did not immediately break down its second-quarter
results.
