Toyota announced today the production, sales in Japan and export results of TMC and subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. and Hino Motors, Ltd., for January 2008.

  • First increase in eight months and a record high for the month of January
Hino
  • Sixth consecutive month of increase

  • First increase in two months and a record high for the month of January

SALES IN JAPAN
Toyota
  • Decrease
  • Sales of Lexus vehicles were 2,999 units (a 27.3% decrease from January 2007)
  • 45.0% share of market, excluding minivehicles (a 3.8% decrease from January 2007)
Daihatsu
  • Decrease
  • The number of minivehicles sold in January 2008 was 45,800 (a 1.0% decrease from January 2007)
  • 33.9% share of the minivehicle market (a 0.5% increase from January 2007) and a record high for the month of January
Hino
  • First decrease in four months
  • The number of standard trucks sold was 1,500 (a 19.9% decrease from January 2007); first decrease in three months
  • 34.3% share of the truck market (a 2.4% decrease from January 2007)
    (for trucks with maximum loading capacity of more than four tons; excluding imported trucks)

  • Decrease
  • 41.9% share of market, including minivehicles (a 2.3% decrease from January 2007)

  • Seventy-third consecutive month of increase, due to increased production in almost all regions and a record high for the month of January

  • Fifteenth consecutive month of increase, due to increased production in Indonesia

  • Seventy-third consecutive month of increase and a record high for the month of January
