Nelson Piquet Jr. will conduct testing for Renault's Formula One car next week for the first time.
The 21-year-old son of former three-time F1 champion Nelson Piquet was signed last week as one of Renault's two test drivers for next season.
He'll test the R26 car at the Silverstone circuit in central England with Heikki Kovalainen, who replaces Fernando Alonso as a driver next season.
``I am happy that I am getting three full days of testing because it will be more car time than any other F1 car I've driven,'' Piquet Jr. said Friday.
Piquet Jr., who is also known as Nelsinho, has raced at A1 and GP2 levels but the Renault deal will be his first move into F1. Next season, he'll be a test driver alongside former F1 driver Ricardo Zonta.
