New England Motor Press Association Presents 2008 Winter Vehicle Award to Range Rover Sport
Members of the New England Motor Press
Association (NEMPA) last night presented Land Rover North America with
a Winter Vehicle Award in the Ultra Luxury SUV segment for the 2008
Land Rover Range Rover Sport.
NEMPA voted in early February for
their favorite vehicles at the annual Winter Vehicle Voting Day.
Journalists spent time in a crowded parking lot, driving winter-savvy
vehicles to evaluate winter merits of each contestant. The main
criteria for every vehicle entered was that they should have power to
all four wheels. The 2008 Range Rover Sport won in the Ultra Luxury SUV
segment for its value within the segment and unstoppable ability in the
snow.
“We are pleased to be awarded as the winter vehicle of
choice in such a competitive segment,” said Chris Marchand, executive
vice president, marketing and sales, Land Rover North America. “It's
especially gratifying that the Range Rover Sport, a vehicle known more
for its on-road performance and touring strengths, has taken honors as
an SUV with exceptional winter driving attributes. It is a true Land
Rover.”
