- Transit Connect SportVan announced as a production reality
- New Ranger with sport stripes seen for the first time
- Transit SportVan revealed in Panther Black with silver stripes

Drivers who want to be noticed will be flocking to Ford of Britain's
stand at this year's Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC, Birmingham, to
see the full line-up of Ford's new sporty range.
The Transit
Connect SportVan, seen at last year's Show as a concept, will now be a
production reality, going on sale in Britain this Autumn. Prices will
be announced nearer the on sale date. Ford has also announced today
that the top-of-the-range 3.0-litre Ranger Wildtrak will join the sport
stable with a new colour: performance blue with white stripes. On sale
now at £20,900. There is also a new colour for the customers who
couldn't get their hands on the original 500 special edition Transit
SportVans. Panther Black with silver stripes will turn as many heads as
the original. With bodyside mouldings and Bluetooth® as standard, it is
a great package at £19,800 on-the-road.
Steve Kimber,
commercial vehicles director, Ford of Britain, said: "Ford's commercial
vehicles are taking Britain by storm, we are on target to take 25 per
cent of the van market in the first quarter of this year with a total
of more than 27,000 vans sold. Adding the sport style to Connect and
Ranger was driven by the success of the Transit SportVan launched last
year."
"We really enjoy being at the CV Show. We have a
bigger stand this year and it is the Ford commercial vehicle team who
staff it talking to the Show visitors. We get lots of feedback by doing
this and customers get valuable information for their business."
