Chevrolet to Round up a Fun-Filled Time with All-Star Entertainment and NASCAR drivers

The 8th Annual Chevy Thunder is roaring into Stockyards Station in Fort Worth, Friday-Saturday, April 4-5 for a free, two-day race extravaganza. Fans will be treated to interactive displays, opportunities to meet some of NASCAR’s top TEAM Chevy drivers, a monster Silverado, an off-road consumer ride and drive area, live entertainment, and more.

“Chevy Thunder has always been a great event for families to spend time together,” said Eric Snow, Assistant Regional Marketing Manager for Chevrolet Trucks. “The interactive displays, fantastic entertainment line-up, skill-testing off-road course, TEAM Chevy drivers…We’ve pulled out all the stops and hope everyone will come out and enjoy the festivities at Stockyards Station.”

Entrance to Chevy Thunder is complimentary. Fans will have a variety of activities to choose from, including:

NASCAR Driver Appearances – At 6 p.m. on Friday, April 4, festival-goers can take part in the ultimate race fan experience by meeting Team Chevy drivers up-close-and-personal at a special Chevy Driver Autograph Session and Fan Q&A. “Chevy Live” interviews will be broadcast to the crowd, and attendees will have a chance to win a surprise ride-along with their favorite driver in a 2008 Silverado. Drivers scheduled to appear include: Kevin Harvick, Casey Mears, Aric Almirola, Regan Smith, Jeremy Mayfield and Scott Riggs. Fans are encouraged to get autograph access by obtaining wristbands at Stockyards Station beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 4.

Live Entertainment – Popular band .38 Special will storm the stage to entertain fans beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, April 4. Saturday night’s entertainment line-up will include James Otto, country sensation Blake Shelton and CMA Award-winning group Montgomery Gentry. Since their debut in 1999, Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry have been a cornerstone of one of the most important movements in country music since the Outlaws. They were named the CMA's Duo of the Year in 2000, received the Academy of Country Music Award for Top New Vocal Group or Duo, as well as the 2000 and 2001 Radio & Records Readers' Poll award for Top Country Duo.

Ride and Drive Courses – The newest addition to Chevy Thunder is the off-road ride and drive area that is sure to rattle the senses while driving over hills, valleys, bumps and loads of Texas dirt. A street course has also been designed where one can get behind the wheel of a Chevy vehicle, like the award-winning Malibu.
